61st (2009) Legislative Assembly

The 61st Legislative Assembly consists of a Senate with 47 senators and a House of Representatives with 94 representatives. The 61st Legislative Assembly organized December 1-3, 2008, and convened in regular session on Tuesday, January 6, 2009.

Generally, the senators from odd-numbered districts were elected to four-year terms at the 2006 general election and the senators from even-numbered districts were elected to four-year terms at the November 2008 general election.

Two representatives are elected from each of 47 senatorial districts. Generally, the representatives from odd-numbered districts were elected to four-year terms at the 2006 general election and the representatives from even-numbered districts were elected to four-year terms at the November 2008 general election.
