3 In 1999, 2001, and 2003 the House and Senate were in session on Martin Luther King Day, George Washington's Birthday, and on Good Friday.
4 On February 2 and 10, 2005, the Senate and House, respectively, suspended Joint Rule 702 and retained the previously scheduled break after crossover on February 21-22. Neither house was in session on Friday, February 18, 2005.

6 Article IV, Section 7, of the Constitution of North Dakota limits regular sessions to 80 natural days during a biennium and defines a "natural day" as a period of 24 consecutive hours. House and Senate Rules 104 provide that a legislative day begins at 7:00 a.m., so each legislative day ends at 7:00 a.m. the following day.
