1999 North Dakota House of Representatives
The House of Representatives consists of 98 representatives. Two representatives are elected from each of 49 senatorial districts. The representatives from odd-numbered districts were elected to four-year terms at the November 1998 general election. At the 2000 general election, representatives from even-numbered districts were elected to four-year terms to complete the staggering of terms for members of the House as provided by constitutional amendment approved by the voters in 1996. There are 11 House standing committees and 7 House procedural committees that closely parallel the Senate's with respect to name and subject matter jurisdiction.
